One more and one less

We have been trying to mentally recall the number which is 1 more or less than any number to 30 or more.

 

Making number lines

Some of us ave been working really hard to write our numbers in the right order.

Partitioning

Some of us have been learning how to partition a double figured number into tens and units.

e.g. 14 is 4 units (ones) and 1 ten.

homes around the world

We have been researching homes around the world. We have learnt about differences in materials, size, shape and height.

Making joints

We were given two pieces of card and told to find ways of connecting the two to make strong walls. We experimented with various glues and tapes, and then looked at how we could make the joint stronger using wood.

Our building site

Our role play area is a building site at the moment, and we have been having lots of fun using various materials to design and make our own houses. We have then been writing instuctions for others to follow, to make the same house.
