Trip to Vassels Park

We had a lovely time when we went to Vassells Park, and luckily the weather was great too!
We started the trip by eating out pasta salads we had made...they were very tasty! We then went on a flower hunt and learnt some of England's popular flowers' names, including daisies, buttercups and dandelions. We then had lunch and enjoyed plenty of time in the park. Before we left we went on a mini beast hunt and looked for bug's in the various habitats the park offered, such as long grass, under rocks and  in the bushes. We found beetles, bees, ants, woodlice, snails, slugs, millipedes, and many more.

planning, chopping and making our pasta salads

We have used some of the vegetables grown this term to make pasta salads for our trip to Vassells Park.
First we tasted pasta salads already on the market and planned what we would want in our own, to make them look colourful and tasty. Next we went to Morrisons to buy the vegetables that had not yet grown in the vegetable plot. We then learnt how to use a knife safely to chop the vegetables, and followed our plan to make our pasta salads using the chosen vegetables and sauce.

Poems

We are learning about poems this week, and have been making up actions and learning poems about mini beasts.

Our caterpillars.... update!

Our caterpillars have now spun their chrysalis' and are safe inside turning into butterflies. It is very exiting!

Can you see its feet?

Who's runner bean do you think will grow the tallest?
