Our new welcome tree
We have made a tree around our door to make it look more welcoming. We stuffed the trunk with newspaper to make it 3D, and twisted brown paper to make the branches. We then cut up willow and used a glue gun to create the welcome sign. The children collected and made orange and brown leaves to decorate it in the Autumn. Now it is a Christmas tree.
Come and see how the seasons change!

Making biscuits
Toys from around the world
We have been learning about toys children play with around the world. We found out that some children in poorer countries don't live near toy shops or can't afford toys, and make their own toys using bones, sticks or rubbish. Look at what we made using strips of wire...
We made earings, necklaces, eye patches and bikes.

Giving clear instructions
We practised giving clear instructions to our partner. We told them what to draw, step by step, and then compared our drawings to see if we had given clear, detailed instructions. You could try this at home!
Old toys 2
Last week we made some old fashioned toys. We made a cup and ball using a yoghurt pot, piece of string and ball of foil. Some of us made a doll, using a wooden doll peg and fabric. And some of us made a spinning top using a decorated piece of circular card with a pencil pierced through it.
